It took us several experiments with the speed of the rotation and the amount of paint, until we finally achieved the best results for this series.

This high speed photo series done by Photographer Manuel Mittelpunkt and Set designer Matthias Grund uses popular logos from luxury brands to everyday brands along with some creative thinking to create a different kind of brand experience by using liquids.

Luxury brands like LV and CHANEL have always been design inspirations for me. From their back stories to the attention to detail they give in all forms of design, not just clothing. Coco started as a hat maker then popularized the little black dress, Louis left home at 16 and ended up making all luggage for Napoleon and his wife.

The disney one below is probably my favorite out of the bunch. The color combo along with the spinning effect is just sick af. lqdbrds_spread2

“The logo shapes were created out of wood with a laser cutter and were attached to a multifunction tool, which allowed us to spin the logos with a controllable speed. For our pictures we trickled some paint on the logos and started to rotate them. It took us several experiments with the speed of the rotation and the amount of paint, until we finally achieved the best results for this series.”

Not everything comes out right the first time, try again until you get the result you want.
